PROVIDENCE, R.I.__ Campaign manager Eric Hyers concluded his busy season on Nov 4 when Gina Raimondo was elected to be the next governor of Rhode Island. Prior to that date Hyers worked long hours to ensure Raymond’s victory. But what does it take to head a campaign?

Raimondo is the first women to be elected as governor of Rhode Island. With every successful campaign, a team works behind the scenes to make it run smoothly. Hyers first volunteered at campaigns to earn his place as manager. His advice to anyone who may consider a career in campaigns, “Just do it. If you even have an inkling that you want to do campaigns, go try it once,” he said.

Over the course of a campaign the focus is on the candidate. However, campaign managers deserve their time in the spotlight as well.
